A runner-up finish in last week’s Co-operative Funeralcare Scottish International Open in Perth has taken England’s Greg Harlow to the top of the first provisional World Bowls Tour world rankings for next season.

After the disappointment of a second round exit last year, Scotland's world number one and world champion Paul Foster made it through to the quarter-finals of the Co-operative Funeralcare Scottish International Open after a close-fought victory over England's former world champion Billy Jackson in the opening World Bowls Tour event of the season at Dewars Centre in Perth.

In his first World Bowls Tour event since being appointed Scottish Head Coach, David Gourlay delighted the local crowd at the Dewars Centre in Perth when he beat South African qualifier Barry Maitland-Stuart to reach the second round of the Co-operative Funeralcare Scottish International Open.

Success for the fourth time at the Potters Holidays World Indoor Singles Championship in January has led to Scotland's Paul Foster retaining the World Bowls Tour world number one ranking, according the list for the 2011/12 season announced by the WBT.
