It was the latest triumph in a career-best run for the world No8 who followed title success in the Premier League Bowls in September by securing silver in the Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
The 44-year-old from Norfolk set the early pace, romping to a 5-0 lead before Anderson, a wild card entrant after reaching last year's semi-finals as a qualifier, replied.
But with the Englishman ahead 7-1 in the seventh end and holding three shots, Anderson struck back with a sublime delivery which won him the end by a single shot.
In the final end, Anderson's last bowl fails to dislodge the winning red bowl, giving King the opening set.
But the 25-year-old WBT novice was now showing signs of the form which brought him to the final for the first time after despatching a succession of seeds including England's Mark Royal, the world No3 and Scotland's former world number one David Gourlay.
Anderson raced to a 3-0 lead in the second and a tie-break seemed, perhaps, on the cards.
The lead changed three times, however, before the Englishman delivered a crucial match-winning bowl which gave King the title 7-5, 8-5.
"That last bowl was probably the best I played in the match," said the Fakenham estate manager.
"But I think we both could have played better than that.
"It's a dream come true to win the Scottish title for the first time. I guess it is my best run ever," added King.
"But I didn't expect to win, as I expected the crowd to be completely behind Stewart. He's been in such form this week – he's definitely the man of the moment."
Anderson, who took the bowls world by storm in January by reaching the world championship final as a qualifier, was downcast by his performance: "I'm embarrassed, that's how I feel. It's the worst game I've played on this rink.
"I feel gutted. I was playing so well – and then I come and play like that," said the wild card player.
"But worst of all, the Co-op put me in this event - and I feel I've let them down."
